Job Description:
The Sales and Marketing Intern is responsible for customizing and executing local sales and marketing initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and testing direct sales material and planning and execution of direct sales to residential and small commercial prospects. The position will work closely with the Vice President of Sales and Distribution as well as local dealers and distributors to execute specific marketing programs.
Responsibilities also include gathering and reporting responses from prospective customers.
Required Skills:
The candidate must be energetic, have an outgoing personality and enjoy meeting people. Previous direct selling experience is required. The candidate must be able to provide reliable transportation. Experience with a leading consumer products company or with an advertising /promotional agency is a plus.
The preferred candidate must be able to travel in the Northeast US.
Work Schedule:
The position requires a minimum of 20 hour per week. The work schedule is flexible but needs to encompass normal business hours.
Compensation:
The company offers a competitive base salary and incentives. The successful candidate in this assignment may move into a permanent full time position with the company which includes paid vacation and holidays and paid medical coverage.
