Intellidyne helping Levittown go green
 Glen Cove, NY–Intellidyne, LLC, is helping Levittown, known as the nation’s first suburb, go green in celebration of its 60th birthday. Intellidyne, working with Nassau County executive Thomas R. Suozzi and the local energy company, is contributing to a greener Levittown by offering its microprocessor-based IntelliCon®-HW+ Hot Water Heating System Fuel Economizer to 50 Levittown households at no cost. The control has an outstanding record of energy saving, with reductions of 10% or more in energy use after installation.
The Intellidyne IntelliCon-HW+ is a microprocessor-controlled, hot water (hydronic) heating systems fuel economizer. IntelliCon-HW+ reduces energy consumption by adjusting the burner run pattern to match the system’s “heat load.” IntelliCon-HW+ determines the “heat load” by dynamically monitoring the boiler out-flow water temperature and the rate at which this temperature is changing
Levittown, born in the rush of World War II veterans returning home to start families, is determined to be a model for the nation with its Green Levittown initiative. And to make it easier for today’s Levittown families, it is working with eight companies who specialize in green products, from energy-saving devices and home-improvements to financing.
This is important in a town where many of the boilers are the ones originally installed when the homes were built in 1947. The new computer-based controls will provide energy savings while ensuring the continued comfort of Levittown residents. The households chosen need only to call to set up an appointment for installation, which requires just a short amount of time by a qualified installer.
Levittown wants to serve as an example to the rest of America that going green as a community can be done, by simply taking a series of successful steps from light bulb replacement to physical renovation. Intellidyne is looking forward to being a part of this initiative.
